| Ofcourse, VERY heritage (original WHR loco? no - heritage deisel? not very 20s WHR!)! *sarcasm*
There seems to me to be a great jealousy of the FR on WHR (P)'s part. Thing is, it was never going to be possible to rebuild the line to the rose tinted 1920s style dream of the 1964 company - largely due to little of the line's infrastructure surviving, compared to FR's remnants pre preservation. It could I agree be said that the FR highjacked the project.. but then, would the line ever REALLY be (*re?)built otherwise? A last point to make is that whoever builds it, in whatever style they choose - *it was never going to be and never could be the original WHR. FR survived virtually intact into preservation (regardless of the deviation which is a seperate issue) but WHR was torn up and destroyed a long time before any restoration effort could realisitcally be made (biggest issue being the complete lack of track!). Something else - I believe that in its last days, WHR was under FR control whom tried to revive it when it couldn't keep itself standing. They tried to help it - something to be grateful for perhaps? A new WHR without FR involvement just wouldn't work out, partly due to the two line's relative proximity - both companies would suffer. And since the WHR was lastly in the hands of the old FR; a samaritan whom tried to make it a success, why *shouldn't* the new FR build the new WHR? I can't wait to experience Superpower activities soon.. at the proper WHR, not a *fake* 'heritage' wannabee. About as heritage as Prince's ugly modern frames.. CONTROVERSIAL! |

| Albeit even this photo is dominated by black colour, I like it more than the two-tone version you posted to Trekearth. |
